What is a Class C Motorhome?
Class C Motorhomes are characterized by the bed over top of the driving area. These motorhomes are built on what is known as a cutaway chassis. This means that the engines, doors, dash and cockpit area are the same as a van or pickup truck. In most class C motorhomes you can walk from the driving area of the motorhome into the living area. This is not always the case so it is always a good question to ask. Some people believe that Class C motorhomes are not as luxurious as Class A motorhomes. This is simply not the case. Class C motorhomes have all the same amenities as a Class A motorhome. They are just 2 different styles of motorhomes. Class C motorhomes actually accommodate more people than a Class A motorhome of a similar length. This is because with a Class C motorhome you get an additional bed over top of the driving area that a Class A motorhome does not have.
So which style of motorhome is better? That is a person preference. If you are travelling with a larger number of people we always recommend taking a Class C motorhome as that extra bed will make sleeping in the motorhome that much more comfortable.
